Wheels That Heal Car Club, a tax exempt non-profit organization was founded in the fall of 2003 with the purpose of conducting car shows and car events for the benefit of local charities and families in need. We are unique in that we encourage all members to join one of our many committees and assist in raising funds while enjoying their hobby.
In the first year we were honored to have hosted some of the areas biggest car events including, The Salisbury Festival, The Maryland Food Bank Car Show, The Delmarva Chicken festival, Salisbury Riverfest and our Annual Cruise for a Cause. In the following years we have added many additional events including a monthly Cruise-in at K-Mart Shopping Center on US RT 50E Salisbury Maryland held the third Saturday each month starting in April and ending in October.
Wheels That Heal car Club and its members, sponsors and fellow hobbyists have donated over $100,000 to assist local charities and families in need over the past seven years. During 2010 the Barbara Mixter Memorial Fund was started in honor of Barbara Mixter to broaden our ability to support the needs of our growing community. As Co-Founder of Wheels That Heal Car Club following a single lung transplant in 2000 Barbara went on to participate in the US Transplant Olympics bringing home metals and the driving inspiration and spirit to help others our club stands on today.
